I am now taking animal portrait commissions!
The portrait would be in my usual style of paperweight, more like a caricature than an accurate representation of the animal, but hopefully with the essence of your pet and full of character!
The size would be about 7cm tall and handmade from 100% wool felt with needle felted details. The eyes would be semi-precious stone onyx and the portrait sculpture is filled with wool and steel pellets.
Current lead time for these custom orders is up to 21 days, but if you are in a hurry, get in touch and I'll see what can be done.
I will need the following information emailed to me firstname.lastname@example.org (or posted to):
3-8 good quality photos of your pet from different angles and preferably in natural light. Close-ups are very important of the face as well as any details you would like me to try to include.
If you want the animal to have a collar, what colour and any details you would like me to try to include? Also do you want the collar all the way around the neck like on Princess here below or only showing on the front like on Roxie here below?
A short description of your pet: It could be just a few words, but it will really help me to try to capture the character and the spirit of your pet. So what is your pet like? Cheeky little terrier that thinks she is the size of a Rottweiler or a gentle giant that is always happy?
Prices start from £75 for a smooth haired pet (like Pixie here below) and goes up to £120 depending on the amount of hair and detail! And if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Here are a few examples:
Bella is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She is very friendly, her tail is always wagging and she loves people! She would do anything for a milky bone treat, she adores them!
Poppy was a lovely little Yorkshire Terrier. She was full of character, fun, playful and extremely loyal.
Pixie is a Jack Russell mix with huge pointy ears, left ear marked with a white patch. She has very distinctive facial markings and a small kink in the tail. No collar.
Roxie is King Charles Spaniel Chihuahua cross with big eyes and distinctive little brown spots on her snout. She is always happy and alert to everything and she loves to eat and try to climb into the dishwasher to lick dirty plates! Brown collar, only visible on the front.
Princess was a very tiny, dark grey cat and she had pink pads on her paws, she wore a pink jewelled collar with a heart on it and she always gave everyone the stink eye! Collar all the way round.
